Friday, April 7th is Food Pantry Collection Day at Haynes!

The theme for this week’s collection is Kids Dress as Teachers and Teachers Dress as Kids! Not necessarily a certain teacher or kid, but kids might wear fancier clothes and teachers might wear sportier clothes or Vineyard Vines.

March was a record month for the food pantry.  Sudbury schools collected a record setting 5,322 items and Haynes contributed 1,216 of those items.  Our monthly goal at Haynes is to collect at least 1,000 items.  With your help, we are consistently exceeding that goal!  Thank you and please help us continue to end the year strong!  See below for the top ten most requested items for April: 

#1 Cereal – (hot and cold)

#2 Canned Soup – (except Tomato and Chicken Noodle) Preference for cream of mushroom soup, Progresso, Campbell’s Chunky, and Healthy Choice

#3 Pasta – all types, especially lasagna noodles. Whole wheat not needed this month.·

#4 Veggies – (canned beets, spinach, asparagus, corn, mixed veggies, potatoes, yams)

#5 Canned Beans – ALL types: baked beans, pinto beans, red kidney beans, great northern beans, cannellini beans, black beans, garbanzo beans.

#6 Baking/Dessert products – cake, brownie, muffin, fruity bread mixes, olive and vegetable oil

#7 Personal care products – hand soap, facial tissues, shampoo, deodorant, toilet tissue, paper towels, facial and plastic sandwich bags!!!
#8 Condiments – particularly mayo, ketchup, salad dressings, pickles, olives, salsa.

# 9 Flavored rice (like Near East) and other packaged side dishes

#10 Tuna, Salmon, Sardines

Square 1 Art Ordering DEADLINE is Monday, April 10th!

Online ordering is easy! You can also see all of the products available at – Just put in your child’s code (on the catalog that came home).  If you want to use the paper order form, please put it in the box at the front desk of Haynes.

Square 1 Art projects make great gifts – here are some fun ideas of what you could do with your order:

Charm Necklaces – Gets charms from each of your children, or collect them from multiple years of art!

Coasters – purchase coasters for each child’s artwork and then mix and match coaster sets to give to grandparents and relatives.

Tote Bag – Make that bag full of snow gear stand out from the crowd

Key Chain – For your keys or for their backpack!

Have family members that would also like to order gifts? No problem! Just forward your child’s access code (located on the back of the order form) and they can order directly through the website. When the items arrive at school, they will be itemized for each individual who placed an order.

Lotus Blossom fundraiser for Haynes Tuesday, April 11th

Dinner anyone? Lotus Blossom fundraiser for Haynes! On Tuesday, April 11th from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., Lotus Blossom will donate 10% of net sales to HOP and then match that amount for a total 20% donation. This offer applies to both dine-in, take-out orders, but you must mention Haynes when ordering. Treat yourself to a night off from cooking and support Haynes in the process.
