Friday, April 7th is Food Pantry Collection Day at Haynes!

Posted on: April 2nd, 2017 by webmaster

The theme for this week’s collection is Kids Dress as Teachers and Teachers Dress as Kids! Not necessarily a certain teacher or kid, but kids might wear fancier clothes and teachers might wear sportier clothes or Vineyard Vines.

March was a record month for the food pantry.  Sudbury schools collected a record setting 5,322 items and Haynes contributed 1,216 of those items.  Our monthly goal at Haynes is to collect at least 1,000 items.  With your help, we are consistently exceeding that goal!  Thank you and please help us continue to end the year strong!  See below for the top ten most requested items for April:

From Monday, March 27th to Friday, March 31st, the student leadership group will be partnering with Destination Imagination and collecting specific items to entertain children receiving chemotherapy at Mass General Hospital. Please consider supporting the cause by donating the following unused items:

Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Matchbox Cars

2nd and 3rd Grade: Play-Doh (or similar product)

4th and 5th Grade: Decks of Cards

Update: The METCO DVD Drive and Snack Packs for Maynard fundraisers were both a tremendous success. With your generosity and support, Haynes donated over 75 DVDs and collected over 2,500 items to build the snack packs. The Student Leadership Group forever thanks you!

4th Grade Food Pantry 2016-17

Posted on: September 11th, 2016 by webmaster

The Food Pantry is a 4th Grade community service project that runs once a month throughout the school year.  Each month a different 4th grade class will be responsible for collecting and sorting the items brought in. To assist the students, we will need a minimum of FOUR 4th Grade parent/guardian volunteers on each of the monthly collection dates. For more details and to sign up, please click here.

We look forward to working with you and your children on this fun and rewarding community project!
