Friday, April 7th is Food Pantry Collection Day at Haynes!

The theme for this week’s collection is Kids Dress as Teachers and Teachers Dress as Kids! Not necessarily a certain teacher or kid, but kids might wear fancier clothes and teachers might wear sportier clothes or Vineyard Vines.

March was a record month for the food pantry.  Sudbury schools collected a record setting 5,322 items and Haynes contributed 1,216 of those items.  Our monthly goal at Haynes is to collect at least 1,000 items.  With your help, we are consistently exceeding that goal!  Thank you and please help us continue to end the year strong!  See below for the top ten most requested items for April: 

#1 Cereal – (hot and cold)

#2 Canned Soup – (except Tomato and Chicken Noodle) Preference for cream of mushroom soup, Progresso, Campbell’s Chunky, and Healthy Choice

#3 Pasta – all types, especially lasagna noodles. Whole wheat not needed this month.·

#4 Veggies – (canned beets, spinach, asparagus, corn, mixed veggies, potatoes, yams)

#5 Canned Beans – ALL types: baked beans, pinto beans, red kidney beans, great northern beans, cannellini beans, black beans, garbanzo beans.

#6 Baking/Dessert products – cake, brownie, muffin, fruity bread mixes, olive and vegetable oil

#7 Personal care products – hand soap, facial tissues, shampoo, deodorant, toilet tissue, paper towels, facial and plastic sandwich bags!!!
#8 Condiments – particularly mayo, ketchup, salad dressings, pickles, olives, salsa.

# 9 Flavored rice (like Near East) and other packaged side dishes

#10 Tuna, Salmon, Sardines
