Celebrate A Special Teacher Or Staff Member With The Gift of Reading!

Looking for a way to honor someone special at Haynes as school wraps up for the year?  Please consider a gift to our school’s library through the Gift of Reading program.  You can purchase a book to add to the Haynes Library’s circulating collection in celebration of a teacher or staff member who’s made a difference in your family.  Choose from Mrs. Kramer’s online wish list and a book will be delivered to school with the honored person’s name printed on a bookplate.  The honoree will also receive notification that they’ve been celebrated in this way by your family.  These books remain in our library’s collection to be enjoyed by the Haynes community for years to come.  Please contact Jodi Sparks with any questions.

Spring Book Fair eWallet

A digital payment method is now available for the Spring Book Fair!  Simply create an account and authorize a spending limit on your credit card.  You will only be charged for what is purchased (up to the spending limit you selected).  The preauthorized amount will expire after the last day of the book fair.  Go to our school book fair website to set up your eWallet. http://www.scholastic.com/bf/josiahhayneselementarysch

Haunted Haynes – Save the Date!

Please Save the Date for the first annual “Haunted Haynes” on October 19th! This should be a really fun family evening and we will need many volunteers! We have a current need for a marketing/PR volunteer to get the word out, and also welcome help with ideas, set-up, etc. If interested in helping out in any capacity, please email Lisa West  or Jaime Budzienski. Haynes Gift of Reading – Share the Love!

Does anyone in your family have a Valentine (sibling, parent, grandparent…)  that would like to be celebrated in a special way?  Or, are you looking for a fun way to show some love to a special teacher?  Celebrate someone by donating a book to the Haynes library through the Gift of Reading Program!

It’s easy to do, and can all be done online.

Mrs. Kramer has put together a list of books based on her knowledge of the latest and greatest of what’s out there as well as from kids’ suggestions and requests.  Click HERE to access the library wishlist and choose a book.  Please make sure to note in the “Gift Message” box on the online form the name of the person who is being honored by your book donation.  Books will be shipped and then delivered directly to the school.  A bookplate will be put in the cover of the book to recognize your family’s donation and the honoree.  Please email Jodi Sparks with any questions.  Thanks for your support of our library!

Saddle Up! The Haynes Book Fair is Coming!

The Haynes Book Fair will be riding into school the week of November 27th! Each child’s class will have an opportunity to visit the book fair during the week, and we will need parent volunteers during those class times. A school wide notification will be sent when parent volunteer opportunities are posted later this week.

The Fall Book Fair is a great time to purchase books for holidays, birthdays, trips and just good reading.There will be books for pre-school, elementary, young adult and adult readers. Wish lists for teachers and specialists will be available for book donations.

Fall Box Tops Deadline Oct. 27th

Support the Haynes Library Through the “Gift of Reading”

Looking for a way to treat your child on his or her birthday?  Want to recognize a teacher, grandparent, or someone else special in your family’s life?  Interested in giving a gift and giving back to Haynes at the same time?  Help the Haynes Library by donating a book in celebration of a special person or occasion!  Donations to the library through the Gift of Reading program are done electronically to make things easy and convenient for everyone.  Click here to see the library wishlist .  Gift of Reading selections can be made now or at any time of year.   Please make sure to select the “Haynes LIB” shipping address and note in the Gift Message window the name of the child or family who is donating the book and the occasion or person being celebrated.  Thanks for supporting our library!


Spring Book Fair to Benefit the Haynes Library – June 5th-8th

The trees are leafing out and the lilacs are in bloom which means that spring is finally here AND that the Annual Spring Book Fair is just around the corner! Please stop by the Haynes library Monday-Wednesday, June 4th-6th and Friday, June 8th and browse the great selection of books for summer reading. Pick up some titles for your children or help them choose their favorites.

Please consider volunteering for a 40-minute time slot HERE during your child’s class visit to the book fair.  Extra hands are essential to make the fair a success.  Volunteers will help students make selections, find prices, make sure they have enough money and help the little ones fill out their wish lists.

Proceeds from the book fair provide vital support to our wonderful library for the acquisition of new books and more.  

Buy Back-to-School Supplies Now!

HOP is happy to announce that we are participating in the SchoolKidz program again this year. This is a voluntary program to purchase your child’s/children’s school supplies in advance for the 2017-2018 school year. The personalized kit includes everything on your child’s school supply list and will be delivered to your child’s classroom for the first day of school. This program is designed to save you time and make “back-to-school time” less hectic. Order a kit and you can cross “Shopping for School Supplies” off your summer to-do list now!

Online ordering will begin 4/12/17 and the portal will remain open until 5/5/17! Orders may only be placed online at the SchoolKidz website, www.shopttkits.com. Here’s how to order:

Enter the Haynes Account Number, 86093, in the green box and click the search button to call up the list of kits for Haynes.Please be sure to purchase the kit for the grade your child will be entering in the fall. For example, if you currently have a 2nd-grader, please order the 3rd Grade Kit.If you wish to buy additional items such as backpacks, lunch bags, and water bottles, click on the small “Back to Step 2” link below the green “Add to Cart” button.
When you’re done adding items to your cart, click the yellow “View Cart” link in the upper right-hand corner.
Check to make sure you are ordering the kit for the grade your child will be in *next fall* and complete the checkout process with a credit card. If you have a child entering kindergarten in the fall, you can simply choose the Kindergarten Kit online at the same time you are ordering for your older child. If you know of a family who will be entering Haynes in the fall, please feel free to forward this email to them!

Once you purchase the kits, you are done! No more waiting in long lines, battling the crowds, or driving to multiple stores to find every requested item on your child’s supply list. Sit back and relax!

Again, the SchoolKidz program is completely voluntary. Proceeds will benefit HOP. If you decide not to participate in the program supply lists for each grade that contain this information will be provided with teacher assignments mailer over the summer.

The deadline for ordering SchoolKidz kits is 5/5/17. No orders will be accepted after this date.

Square 1 Art Ordering DEADLINE is Monday, April 10th!

Online ordering is easy! You can also see all of the products available at square1art.com – Just put in your child’s code (on the catalog that came home).  If you want to use the paper order form, please put it in the box at the front desk of Haynes.
