Committee Chair Openings

Want to get involved with HOP next year? HOP has several Committee Chair openings that are described below. Please reach out to Dayna Buckley or Nalini Luthra if you would like to Chair/Co-Chair any of these programs or have questions.

Co-chair with Anne Yazdani who has been doing this for several years. BOKS (Build Our Kids’ Success) is a volunteer-run, fun, before-school physical activity program for kids. Each session lasts 6 weeks and meets 2 days per week for 45 minutes. Some of the activities include running, jumping, hopping, hula hooping, learning new skills and so much more!
Cultural Arts:
Coordinators are responsible for booking and requesting payment for grade-level, curriculum-based, cultural enrichment activities. This includes communication with teachers, administration (as necessary), HOP Treasurer, and artists or their agents. With remaining budget, coordinators should attend Young Audiences of Massachusetts showcases and meetings with fellow Cultural Arts Coordinators through established networks to preview and book artists and authors for all school meetings and school visits. For all events, coordinators must stay within budget and ensure that events are communicated to school administrators and HOP so they appear on school and HOP calendars.

Work with a team of dedicated fifth grade parents to coordinate and organize a variety of activities to make Fifth grade a truly memorable year.

The liaison collaborates with the Family and Student Engagement Coordinator who works half time at Haynes. You help to organize two Stay n Play events which provide an opportunity for Boston and Sudbury friends to have play dates on a half day Wednesday either at school or at homes. In addition, you help to connect families so that Boston students are able to attend evening events and field trips that involve unusual departures or arrivals. Finally, in some years, liaisons have organized a Haynes METCO family potluck dinner or other event to bring Boston and Sudbury families together to enjoy each other’s company.
