Dear 4th Grade Families –
The Food Pantry is a 4th Grade community service project that runs once a month all year long.
We need a minimum of FOUR 4th Grade parent/guardian volunteers (the more the merrier!) to help collect and sort the donations on each of the monthly collection dates. Each 4th Grade classroom is assigned responsibility for a particular collection date as noted on the sign-up sheets.
Volunteers should arrive at 11:45 a.m. The early part of the volunteer time will be spent helping the kids collect and sort the donations. Once the children return to lunch/class, parent volunteers will finish sorting and load the vehicles. Most times we can fit donations in 2-3 vehicles, but it will depend on how many items are collected.
Those volunteers who are not needed to deliver are finished once the loading is complete. For those volunteers whose cars are loaded with donations, delivery time to food pantry is at 2:05 p.m. sharp at the back of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Sudbury (160 Concord Road). The delivery is quick and efficient, but we must be on time for our slated spot! (Note that it is quite likely that there will be some open time between when the sorting/loading is finished and the 2:05 p.m. delivery time.)
So bring on those minivans, pick-up trucks and SUVs and let’s show our children that we share their commitment to this important community project!
