2018 Spring Chess Club Semester

It’s time for CHESS!
Join Josiah Haynes’ popular Chess club taught by FIDE and National Chess master Valery Frenklakh.
Any level and age are welcome!
This Spring semester runs 7-weeks every Wednesday at 7:45am
Starting May 2 and ending on June 13th.
Where: at Josiah Haynes School
Our Chess club provides children with a solid foundation on which to build and grow their skills of visualization and deductive reasoning.  We have all ages from kindergarten to 5th grade.  A child who is introduced to chess at a young age is likely to do better in school for years to come. Research shows that playing chess improves a child’s thinking, problem-solving, reading, and math scores. Educators and chess experts generally agree the first grade is the ideal time to introduce children to chess, although some as young as four or five may be ready to learn and play.
It really helps children in building self-confidence.  We hope to have your child join us!
Payment is due at the first class on May 2nd. Please make check out to Valery Frenklakh. If you have any questions or for further information, please contact Valery Frenklakh by email VF1999@comcast.net or if you have any questions, please call him at (617)549-1491.
Please note that due to the snow cancellations and class makeups, the Winter Chess Club’s last class is Wednesday, April 11, 2018.  Thank you to all those that participated!  We look forward to seeing you again for the Spring semester!
