The festivals are a chance for children to celebrate their learning through a morning-long event incorporating crafts, games, dancing, and other activities related to one of the areas they’ve been studying. The festivals are sponsored by HOP, and are run by parent and guardian volunteers. Read more in the Festival Guidelines 2020.

It’s Time to Plan Haynes Cultural Festivals!
We need Cultural Festival Co-Chairs for Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. These festivals are one of the highlights of each year, and do not happen without parents like you! Co-chairing a festival with other volunteers is a great way to get involved and learn about what your child is studying and helping bring these lessons to life.
Each festival has templates for how they run, lots of activities with directions and supply lists, as well as decorations that are saved and available year-to-year for set up.

HOP is the Haynes Organization of Parents: an organization of parents and guardians of children attending the Josiah Haynes School. We interact with teachers, professional and administrative staff of the school; we foster, enrich and otherwise support the educational programs and related activities conducted by the school; we present cultural and science programs and activities that aid and supplement the curriculum; and we raise money to fund professional development programs, technology purchases, classroom supplies, playground equipment and much, much more.
