Haynes Fun Run FAQs

  • What is the Josiah Haynes Fun Run?

The Josiah Haynes Fun Run is an 11-day program and is this semester’s biggest fundraiser, taking place on 06/01/2023. Families get donations for the laps their student completes (or 30-35 minutes active time) at the Josiah Haynes Fun Run. Funds raised from this event will go towards renovating the aging basketball courts and enrichment activities! Our goal is to raise $10,000.

  • Who is Boosterthon?

Boosterthon is the event organizer. They supply the website, the process for donations, the character-building program, and all the prizes and Fun Run materials.  On the event day, they set up and coordinate everything.  They create the Fun Run track, set up a blow-up tunnel for students to run through before the Fun Run begins, have tents lining the track, and have a D.J playing high-energy music.

Nixon, Noyes, and Loring Elementary Schools have all used Boosterthon and have held very successful Fun Runs.

  • How much does it cost families to register their student(s)?

  • Why do families need to register their student(s)?

It helps us with planning logistics and getting a sense of how many families are aware of the fun run.

  • How can families register their student(s)?

Families log in or sign up on https://mybooster.com/v3  and click “I’m a Parent/Guardian.” Then, families can follow the prompts to register their student as a participant by searching for the school by name.

  • Does the student need to get a donation to participate in the Fun Run?

No, all students will be participating in the Fun Run.

  • If students want to participate in the Fundraiser portion of the Fun Run, how can students get donations?

Families can share their fundraising link available on their student registration page on Boosterthon via Facebook, through email, or even a text. Sponsors can enter and pay for those donations online through students’ fundraising Boosterthon weblink!

  • When is donation money due?

Donation money is due within ONE WEEK after the event. Families have one week to collect their donations after the Josiah Haynes Fun Run.

  • Can I write a check?

You can still turn in cash or check for donations not made through the Boosterthon student’s registration page.

  • When is the event?

This Thursday, June 1, 2023

  • How can I attend the event?

Sign-up for the timeslot(s) you want to attend at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/643395953617

.  We will confirm your name(s) at the registration tables on the playground.

Second and Third Grades: 8:55 AM

Kindergarten & First Grade: 9:50 AM

Fourth & Fifth Grades: 10:45 AM

  • Will my student really complete 30-35 laps? How big is the track?

Yes, even kindergarteners! The Outdoor Fun Run track is about 1/16th of a mile, 1/4 the size of a normal high school track. The student just needs to be active during the 30-35 minutes, to count towards completion of 30-35 laps.

  • Do you need any help/volunteers?

Why yes, we do, thank you for asking.   Please see the attached Sign-Up Genius link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050D44AAA72CA4FE3-haynes. We will need some help at the Registration Tables and Hydration Station for each shift. Thank you!

We are looking forward to a fun-filled, community-building morning!
