To accommodate this year’s shift to holding school picture day indoors, Haynes is revising its picture day schedule as follows:
Tuesday, September 17: Kindergarten, Grades 1, 2 and 3
Tuesday, September 24: Grades 4 and 5
There is 1 time slot for volunteers:
Photo order forms will be sent home with your child and should be returned to school on or before September 17th.
We are seeking volunteers to assist the photographer. As a thank you for your time, volunteers will receive a free medium size portrait package, compliments of The Robbs.
Please contact Alison Riquier with questions about School Photo Day.
Volunteer job descriptions:

Photo Day 9/17: 8:45 am (for briefing) – 11:45am
Photo Day 9/24: 8:45 am (for briefing) – 11:45am
School Photo Day – Retrieve Classes
Retrieve classes from their rooms, collect order forms from the teacher, determine if there are any absentees, direct class to the group photo area. Ask the teacher if there are any special requests for the photographer. Report info to groomer for that class (requests could be for grooming, clothing or positioning).
School Photo Day – Recorder
Works closely with photographer to confirm that the correct student is posing based on alphabetized list, recording absent or new students, noting a brief description of their clothing to help identify them, and recording any staff or teachers that pose in between the students in each class. Each class has its’ own shoot sheet.
School Photo Day – Poser
Situates the child before their photo is taken. They should also check child for details (i.e., necklace position, straighten collars, tuck in shirts, etc.) Poser should also be ready to assist the groomer as needed.
School Photo Day – Groomer
Volunteer is there to fix/comb hair, straighten collars, button shirts, clean faces, etc. The Robbs provide new combs to use for each student, along with hair spray, mirrors, tissues and face wipes. Combs are put in trash, students can’t take them. Retrievers will notify groomers of any special requests made by parents for hair style, etc. prior to photo.
School Photo Day – Group Photo Volunteer. This volunteer would assist the group photographer with positioning students for their group photo; then line each class up in alphabetical order and escort them to the individual photo location, based on availability of the photographer. This volunteer will need a class list.
