Haynes Movie Night is a Fundraiser for 5th Grade Activities!
Only 5th graders should volunteer for “student spots” and 5th Grade parents should volunteer for “parent spots”!
All parents and guardians at Haynes are members of the Haynes Organization of Parents (HOP). Getting involved with HOP allows you to connect with the amazing teachers and staff, as well as other parents. Volunteer with HOP and throughout the school; share your strengths, talents, interests and hobbies in a way that improves the school day for your child and the children in our community. You may just inspire a budding artist, teacher, engineer, or future president.
Whether it’s chairing a Festival, being a room parent or baking cake, there’s something for you at Haynes. We welcome and appreciate your time and talent.
We have many exciting roles and opportunities to get involved throughout this school
year. Please visit our Volunteer Signup Genius to learn about specific volunteers roles
that need to be filled. We have opportunities that are both big and small to match any
schedule and availability. We need your talents!

HOP is run 100% by volunteers, and we need your help in order for it to continue!

From the Library
Hello! My name is Dorothy Kramer and I am your child’s Library teacher. I love seeing
them every week. We read, learn something new, and check out books. Do you have
any time you might be able to help in the library? Projects include shelving books and
preparing new ones. I can schedule you once a week, twice a month, or for special
projects. Please fill out this form if you are interested.
Thank you so much.
All the best

Seeking Stay and Play Volunteers
HOP seeks to ensure all our students have the opportunity to join events outside school hours! For students who are not residents of Sudbury, we know travel times can be an added challenge. For that reason, we provide an option for students who live outside Sudbury, and do not already attend SED, to stay afterschool until the start of evening events. Students are supervised by adult volunteers, are engaged in activities, and are provided a nut-free snack. We would like a list of “go-to” volunteers (who we could contact per event to determine availability) to supervise students of various ages, plan or run engaging activities, and generally help to make the time between school and the evening event enjoyable! Please contact Joanna Steffey or Jillian Kelton if you are interested in being added to our Stay and Play volunteer list. Volunteers would need to meet the requirements set for all volunteers at SPS schools, including completing a CORI within three years. To our families of non-resident students, please let us know if you have questions about Stay and Play opportunities in general or for an upcoming event!
